Rorate Caeli has reported on an important new text containing an interview with Cardinal Robert Sarah of Guinea. It will be remembered that Pope Francis appointed His Eminence as the new Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments last November.

Cardinal Sarah is reported to have stated:-

'The idea that would consist in placing the Magisterium in a nice box by detaching it from pastoral practice - which could evolve according to the circumstances, fads, and passions - is a form of heresy, a dangerous schizophrenic pathology. I affirm solemnly that the Church of Africa will firmly oppose every rebellion against the teaching of Christ and the Magisterium.'

This heartening news will encourage the many Catholics throughout the world who have been unsettled by the strange goings on surrounding the Rome Synod on Marriage.

So too, will the latest news relating to the American Bishop, Robert Morlino of Madison.

His Lordship has appeared in an interview with Raymond Arroyo on EWTN. During the interview, Bishop Morlino clearly rejected the 'thesis' on admitting the divorced/remarried to Holy Communion.

He stated: ''Only what is true can ultimately be pastoral and we cannot carry out something else and call it pastoral, if it doesn't embody the truth.'' He added: ''It seems to be essentially confusing to say that we are going to change the discipline, which embodies this doctrine, but we're not going to change the doctrine. It is almost like a mind/body split.''

When Raymond Arroyo read out Cardinal Raymond Burke's statement and explanation that he would resist Pope Francis if he were to attempt to pursue doctrinal change, Bishop Morlino responded: ''I agree with that completely.'' He also suggested that Pope Francis will not attempt such a thing.

Please keep these orthodox prelates in your prayers in the months ahead.
