Catechesis

'There exists now an enormous religious ignorance... in the times after the Second Vatican Council, it is evident that we have not succeeded in transmitting, in a concrete way, the content of the Catholic Faith.' Pope Benedict (then Cardinal Ratzinger), Oct 2002.

‘The definitive aim of catechesis is to put people not only in touch but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ: only He can lead us to the love of the Father in the Spirit and make us share in the life of the Holy Trinity.’ Catechesi Tradendae 5.

The desire to cooperate with the Holy Spirit, in the heart of the Catholic Church, in order to impart orthodox catechesis, forms a vital element of the Torch of The Faith apostolate. This has borne fruit in a number of catechetical endeavours in the following areas -

·
First Confession and First Holy Communion preparation for children

·
Confession and Confirmation preparation for teenagers and young adults

·
Marriage preparation for engaged couples

·
RCIA presentations for new/potential converts

In all of these areas our presentation of the Faith is rooted in the organic and systematic four-part structure of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and is thus inspired with a missionary dynamic.

Focusing on the priority of God’s gift of Grace and His offer of a New Life in Christ, our programmes invite a loving response of Christian discipleship and virtue. They are thus Christocentric, Trinitarian and aim at fidelity to God and to man in the service of the love that never ends.

We are now based in the North West of England but can be booked to travel to give catechetical sessions in your parish, retreat centre or home. In recent years we have served priests and laity in diverse locations including Birmingham, Chester, Cornwall, Denbigh, Dublin, Hednesford, Liverpool, Oxford, Pantasaph, Penmaenmawr, Preston, Salford, Seaforth, St. Helens and Widnes. Contact us today for more details!
