Britain continues to lead the global slide into post-Christian nihilism. MPs have voted this evening to allow so-called 3-parent babies. Even Aldous Huxley could not have envisioned a dystopia as bleak as this.
Please pray for our once-great nation. It has rejected God in preference for unjust wars, abortion, destructive embryo-experimentation, pornography, same-sex 'marriage,' and a host of other evils. Now we will even have legalized 3-parent IVF; a crime no other nation has yet attempted.
Perhaps Fiona Bruce, an Evangelical Christian and MP for Congleton, summed it up best in her Commons speech against 3-parent babies this afternoon: ''There will be no going back for society.''
This does not just impact on the UK as it is an attempt at a radical change to human nature. More than that it is a blasphemous rejection of the image of God in man. It will result in countless more human embryos being destroyed. Finally, it will open the door to further embryo experimentation, 'designer babies' and even to lesbian mothers 'creating' embryos; thus further undermining the natural order of marriage and procreation. We must repent and pray. May God forgive us.Â
