lord.jpgWe've read a bit more of the details for this so-called Youth Mass which is advertised on the Reclaim the Future website of the Catholic Youth Services; which bears the logo of the Bishop's Conference of England and Wales.

I suppose that one could just keep on and on finding and quoting ridiculous reductions of the Catholic Faith on that web page. I will restrict myself to this one which is of particular concern;

The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that -

The Mass is at the same time, and inseparably, the sacrificial memorial in which the sacrifice of the cross is perpetuated and the sacred banquet of communion with the Lord's body and blood. But the celebration of the Eucharistic sacrifice is wholly directed toward the intimate union of the faithful with Christ through communion. To receive communion is to receive Christ Himself who has offered Himself for us. (para 1382).

Contrast that eternal truth with the following section from the Reclaiming the Future web page...

Communion Rite

Prepare some Fair Trade chocolates or sweets to give out to the congregation... Wrap the individual chocolate or sweet in some tissue or greaseproof paper, adding a little Live Simply message or action as a tag... These little gifts to the congregation will, hopefully send them out with a smile, but also with a challenge...

Yesterday, I blogged about St. Richard Gwyn of Wales. He spoke of the enforced deconstruction of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass into the Protestant 'Lord's Supper' in the following terms;

'In place of the Altar a wretched table... In place of Christ... bread.'

What we now see is nothing short of theological deconstructionism of the Holy Faith. The difference? Saints like Richard Gwyn endured fines, imprisonment, torture, and brutal martyrdoms to defend the beautiful and unmerited sacrifice of the Mass. Whereas we are allowing this post-Protestant - indeed Post-Christian - attack on Jesus Christ because of human respect and indifference.

May all the saints and martyrs of England and Wales pray for us. And may we protest this strongly!
